We’ve caught wind of another new brew-project on this side of the state, the 57 Brew Pub in Greenville. Now we know that “craft brewing” has really arrived, when the former roller rink, next door to the American Legion, is deemed viable as a brewery!
I’m sure this place will make some concessions to their small town location, with plenty of TV’s and some commercial adjunct beer available or commercial-style beer brewed, but every step in the right direction continues the education process of American beer consumers if we can get more and more of them weaned off the shilled swill of the big boys.
As for new breweries, the more the merrier, we say. According to our best count, there are about 125 breweries currently operational in the state of Michigan. Cheers!
